First Lady Celebrates “Go Red for Women” Event Jenny Sanford to Attend Annual Red Dress Rally Supporting the American Heart Association
Columbia, S.C. – January 31, 2005 – First Lady Jenny Sanford is scheduled to attend the Second Annual Red Dress rally in the Statehouse Rotunda tomorrow (Tuesday, February 1, 2005). This event increases awareness of cardiovascular disease – a silent killer for many of South Carolina’s women.
“I am a proud supporter of the American Heart Association’s ‘Go Red for Women’ campaign,” Mrs. Sanford said. “Raising awareness of the risks associated with heart disease and educating women on the importance of good nutrition and a healthy, active lifestyle can have a dramatic impact on so many lives in this state.”
The First Lady will present a proclamation signed by Gov. Sanford at tomorrow’s event. The rally, which will begin at 12:00 noon tomorrow, will be held in the lower lobby of the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia (located at the corner of Assembly and Gervais).
