COLUMBIA, SC–First lady Jenny Sanford has announced she will participate in the 2009 Susan G. Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure.
The event brings awareness to breast cancer and those who have survived and died from it.

The first lady will walk the race alongside her sister, Kathy Sullivan, and the Roper St. Francis Cancer Center Team.
Sanford has been keeping a relatively low-profile since her husband, Governor Mark Sanford, revealed he had an affair.
The first lady moved out of the governor’s mansion along with her kids this past summer to focus on raising them and working on her marriage.
